Despite the uproar from every corner of the country, Congress approved the fast track for the Trans-Pacific Partnership, meaning the horrible deal will sink or swim on an up or down vote from Congress with no debate.
No longer shrouded in secrecy, the deal, as expected, is a give-away to multi-national corporations. From food, medicine and the environment to the Internet and intelligence, the TPP is moving us towards complete corporate domination including trading away our own sovereignty and justice system for the sake of profit. It is more than a free trade deal, it’s a free for all for multi-national corporations.
What could be worse than the TPP Fast Track?
Passing the TPP in the lame-duck session of Congress, especially when voters of all persuasions are opposed to it and both presidential candidates have come out against it.Tell your member of Congress, it is just plain wrong.
If the TPP passes, it will make our already difficult job of transforming government into a real democracy that much harder. From every corner of America, every issue group, every patriot, our duty in the near future is to stop the TPP fast track.
A movement in action can accomplish wonderful things. We've stopped it before — we can do it again!
