Anchorage Daily News Letter to the Editor

It has been big news lately regarding the pipeline of “Outside” money being spent on our state political campaign for U.S. Senate. I believe that most Alaskans feel like I do, that there is no way I can keep up with the wealthy funders funneling money through PACs and that my voice is being drowned out.

But there is something each of us can do: get involved in the We the People Constitutional Pledge. Hold each person running for an elected position accountable to the precept that our state constitution is written for each of us human persons, not for artificial persons such as corporations. Only in this way can we begin a return to a democracy that is a light to the world.
