Be a part of our 2016 plans to save democracy!

December 22, 2015

Move to Amend is a nationwide movement to save democracy by clearly establishing money is not speech and corporations are not people.

Locally in Cleveland we have been working to put Move to Amend on the Cleveland ballot next year in 2016! We are making progress with 2500+ signatures and will continue to get more with your help!

Next Cleveland MTA meeting will be 1/11

Our next meeting will be Monday, January 11th at 5:30pm at MLK Jr Library, 1962 Stokes Boulevard (between Euclid and Chester Ave near University Circle) to discuss our plans for 2016. Please attend!

Check out our plans for 2016

-Petitioning at one or more Martin Luther King Jr. programs over weekend of Jan 16-18 (more info soon)

-Take a few minutes out of your day January 21st to participate to get "6 on 6."
January 21st is the 6th anniversary of the Citizens United vs FEC Supreme Court decision. If everyone with a petition got just 6 signatures on 1/21 we'd have over 600 additional signatures!

-February - can you get one signature a day during February?
“29 signatures in 29 days” campaign – You are encouraged to collect 1 signature each day for the entire month. If we all did this we'd have enough signatures to file!

If you don't live in Cleveland come to the city once a week and shoot for 7/week! You can get that many only 15 minutes at West Side Market or Dave's Market on Payne Ave.

-2/6: Petitioning at Kurentovanje parade at E. 64th and St. Clair

-3/15: We will be collecting signatures during Ohio's primary election! We got 1000+ signatures on the last election day! Join us for a few hours on 3/15 so we can get another 1000 signatures!

-Mass petition day (Saturday in April to be determined): Move to Amend supporters from across Ohio will join Cleveland petitions for a 1-day mass collection day

-Petitioning at The Hooley on Kamm's Corners
-Petitioning at Senior Day

June and July
-Events to be determined

It's Still warm for December!
Take your petition to West Side Market or Dave's Supermarket (3301 Payne Ave). You can fill up your petition fast!

Do you know or own a Cleveland business that would be interested in having a Cleveland Move to Amend petition?
UPDATE: We have gotten one petition completed by an eager business... It's an easy way to get involved and get signatures.  It is important that each signature is witnessed consistent with the Board of Elections standards. Please contact us for more details on specifics.

In solidarity,
