Thursday, June 11 / 5:30 pm – 6:45 pm
Jefferson Branch of the Cleveland Public Library
850 Jefferson Ave., Tremont
We'll discuss our summer strategy for petition collection and petitioner recruitment.
Our citizen petition campaign to place a initiative on the November 2016 Cleveland ballot calling for a Constitutional Amendment to end corporate "personhood" and money defined as "free speech" is off and running. Several hundred signatures have already been collected. 5000 valid signatures are needed.
We'll have petitions, instructions and talking points at the meeting for distribution. We'll also have info of upcoming festivals and celebrations in Cleveland this summer that are perfect venues for petition collection. These include:
6/13 Parade the Circle
6/20 Larchmere Porchfest
6/20 Clifton Arts & Music Fest
6/27 Cleveland LGBT Pride
6/27 Waterloo Arts Fest
If you can petition at any of these events, contact Chris at 440-376-8400 or Lois at 216-231-2170
If you can't petition but can make phone calls to Move to Amend supporters asking if they would circulate a petition, also please contact Chris or Lois. This is very much needed as there are several hundred Move to Amend supporters on our list.
Hope to see you on June 11!
