Democracy Day Public Hearing in Chagrin Falls

Democracy Day Public Hearing

Some of may not know or remember that in 2015 residents of Chagrin Falls passed petitions to neighbors to support the Move To Amend effort. We had enough signatures to get the ordinance adopted with 67% of the voters.

The ordinance states that in each odd numbered year, on the third Saturday in March, we celebrate Democracy Day at the Village Hall with a public hearing. Residents of the Chagrin Falls School District, and other interested parties speak about the influence of corporations on our everyday lives.

Our goal is to connect local residents to larger issues in state and national government which undermine people's sovereignty. So we are asking you to support Democracy Day on March 16th at 1:00 at Chagrin Falls Village Hall with your words and/or your presence.

There are so many ways corporations undermine our democracy:
They strike down local, state and federal laws and regulations.
They avoid environmental, health and safety inspections.
They bankroll candidates, get tax loopholes and subsidies.
They undermine public education.

We hope to see you there with your words and support.
