Dialogue Over Parade Incident Continues

July 13, 2017

Press coverage continues in the aftermath of an unfortunate event wherein Prescott Area Move To Amend was ousted from the local Fourth of July parade.  Our local affiliate was stunned when we were ejected from the parade at the last minute.  So we wrote the editor, and that was published (see next article below this one to read that letter).  The editor wrote a reply a couple days later in which he/she acknowledged the importance of the Move To Amend cause.  So, we thought that was that.

Then, today this letter to the editor appeared:  https://www.dcourier.com/news/2017/jul/13/letter-dont-rain-my-parade/

While unfortunate, this event has opened up some local dialog here in Prescott around the illegitimate doctrine of so-called corporate "rights" and how this perverts the nature of what most Americans consider so dear about our nation.  So we welcome the coverage.

At the same time we do feel it is unfortunate that the parade committee wound up being the "bad guys".   One of their staff made a mistake, and in a subsequent conversation this has been acknowledged.

Still, at the end of the day, it is a welcome sight to see our cause talked about in print.  Thank you, Daily Courier.
