A Documentary Film Screening of “Before the Flood” on May 23rd

May 9, 2018

Joint meeting of Northwest Florida Move to Amend & 350 Pensacola

Film Screening of “Before the Flood” Followed by a discussion led by both organizations

Wednesday, May 23 at 5:30 PM @ Main Pensacola Library, 239 North Spring Street, Pensacola

Join 350 Pensacola and Pensacola Move to Amend for a showing of “Before the Flood”, a film that follows actor Leonardo DiCaprio to five continents and the Arctic to witness climate change firsthand. Following the film, both organizations will discuss how the influence of corporate money in politics is delaying action on climate change and how the public can take action to free our political system of that influence.

In Before the Flood, DiCaprio follows scientists uncovering the harsh reality of climate change and meets with elected officials who are taking action. Along the way he discovers a disinformation campaign “orchestrated by powerful special interests working to confuse the public about the urgency of the growing climate crisis.”

Pensacola Move to Amend is part of a national movement to add a 28th amendment to the U.S. Constitution that declares that money is not free speech and that human beings, not corporations, are persons entitled to constitutional rights. 350 Pensacola works to confront climate change and promote solutions through education and science-based advocacy. Both organizations are nonpartisan.

Please join us for an interactive presentation and discussion!

Please bring some finger food to share, as most of us may not have had time for supper.  Light refreshments will be served.

The presentation is part of a monthly speaker series on climate change and related issues sponsored by 350 Pensacola.
