Have To Get There.

December 30, 2017

Thanks so much to everyone who has pitched in to amend the U.S. Constitution to end corporate personhood and big money in politics!

We still have a ways to go -- we need to raise over $70,000 in the next 48 hours to end 2017 in the black and a good position to take it to the next level in 2018. If you haven't already, won't you please make an end of the year donation to Move to Amend?

Check out our message below about how we will pass the We the People Amendment. Move to Amend is the ONLY group with an actual plan to get the 28th Amendment done. We're also the ONLY group that is truly grassroots -- our funding comes from people like you, our average donate is less than $40.

We can't do this without you, please make a donation right now to support our work in 2018.

Thank you!

How we will pass the We the People Amendment

Last year we unveiled our strategic plan for amending the U.S. Constitution. The charts below reveal how we expect to pass the We the People Amendment.

We must mobilize people, communities, state legislatures, and Congress…

This is a marathon; not a sprint. Here’s how we win…

We are not a well-financed "inside the beltway" D.C. group with ties to special interests and their checkbooks. We depend on you for our funding.

We still need to raise a lot of funds to end 2017 in the black and in a good position to take it to the next level in 2018. If you haven't already, won't you please make an end of the year donation to Move to Amend?

When Move to Amend launched in 2010, we were 12 people with a vision to fulfill the promise of the American experiment in democracy.

Today, we are an organized network of grassroots volunteers, aided by a small and remarkable staff, and have a notable list of accomplishments:

  • The Motion to Amend has reached over 444,000 signatures.
  • We’ve passed hundreds of resolutions and ballot initiatives.
  • We’ve got 58 affiliate groups active in 22 states and more underway.
  • We’re learning skills to enable us to build strong alliances across diverse communities in order to build a movement capable of passing the We the People Amendment, and succeeding.
  • Our amendment has been introduced in Congress—three times—and currently carries 52 cosponsors.

And, with this plan, we have an organizational roadmap that can take us across the finish line!

We are over $70,000 short to end 2017 in the black and in a good position to take it to the next level in 2018. Please make an end of the year donation to Move to Amend today!

We have a written and detailed plan now, but our objectives remain unchanged:
  • Pass the We the People Amendment by 2025
  • Ratify the We the People Amendment by 2027
  • Establish real participatory democracy—ONGOING.

We know this is an ambitious campaign. But it must be done. And we cannot do it without you, -- Please make an end of the year donation to Move to Amend today!

We’ve come very far on limited funds and unlimited enthusiasm, yet the hard part still lies ahead. We fully expect to pass the We the People Amendment, but we cannot afford to waste time or money duplicating efforts or missing opportunities. Please contribute today!

For peace and good will,

PS -- We know it sounds like a lot, but $70,026 is what's needed before December 31. That's a small price to pay though when you consider the importance of Move to Amend. Won't you please pitch in to help us reach our goal? And don't forget, now through December 31, a generous donor will match your gift!

A huge, enormous, thank you goes out to to everyone who has already donated! Can you pitch in just a little more?
