Chicagoland Move to Amend

Members of our affiliate celebrating with our State Senator, Don Harmon, President Pro Tempore of the Illinois Senate, after he signed the Pledge To Amend for us.  Members include Judy Gaietto-Grace, Carolyn Skipper, Terry Grace, Sen. Harmon, Matt Cotten, and Paul Sakol.

The local Move to Amend affiliate for Oak Park and Near West Suburban Chicago, Illinois.  We meet on a monthly basis on the second Sunday of every month (excepting Mothers' Day) at 2:30-3:30.  We are active in working with the Illinois MTA Chapter and are active members of the Coalition To Restore Democracy.  We are a larger affiliate (150+) and growing.  We have been major contributors in the passage of legislation, township referenda, lobbying for causes, rallies, leaf-letting, and educating the public. Oak Park Response to "Citizens United" on Tuesday Ballot

Ever since the U.S. Supreme Court removed virtually all restrictions on corporate money in politics, groups around the country have been attempting to overturn the results of "Citizens United."

Now communities such as Oak Park are giving residents a voice on whether that should happen.

Oak Park Township has placed an advisory referendum on Tuesday's ballot asking voters for governments on all levels to consider a constitutional amendment regulating political funding of campaigns.
