Is your MN senator or representative co-sponsoring SF 1082 or HF 2139? You can get them on board!

These two bills in the Minnesota legislature—when passed and signed by the governor--will petition the U.S. Congress to craft the Constitutional amendment that we all seek: money is not speech and corporations are not people, so the influence of big money in politics can be controlled by campaign finance reform and Constitutional rights can't be used by corporations to thwart our existing laws meant to control actions harmful to We the People.

It is important to keep these two bills front and center, even in a legislative session when their prospects for progress may be slim, so that we can signal to our legislature that these bills will keep being reintroduced—until they are passed.

You can help keep SF1082 and HF2139 moving forward by encouraging your senator or representative to co-sponsor the appropriate bill. You can do this by taking only three steps:

1. Check the links above to make sure your senator or representative is NOT already a co-sponsor.

2. If they aren't listed, look up their email address in the legislature and send them a version of the following message. Just choose the appropriate option for senator or representative and the appropriate bill to go along with that option.

Dear [Senator or Representative, name],

As one of your constituents who agrees with Move to Amend’s proposed Constitutional amendment, I thank you if you have supported a previous version of the Minnesota legislation in support of amending the U.S. Constitution to make clear that corporations and other artificial entities do not have Constitutional rights and that money is not speech and campaign spending should be through regulation.

Please become a co-sponsor of [SF1082  or HF2139] this session.

Thank you for your attention to this important issue.
