The NAACP Moral March to the Polls took place in dozens of North Carolina cities and towns on Oct. 23rd--the first day of "early voting." The March in Sylva, county seat of Jackson County, was organized by the local NAACP county branch. MTA-Far Western NC had its local banner carried prominently in the 2 mile march through downtown Sylva. At the Elections Board voting site the banner was posted on rear of vehicle adjacent to the [coffee and doughnuts] Welcome to Moral Marchers booth. There each participant voted. Local police provided escort along the residential route. This event was a seamless action from Pledge to Amend as part of the 2014 election effort to get out word of Move to Amend.
