Western NC MTA affiliate members joined 10,000 at Asheville's Pack Square Park for the first of Moral Monday's Forward Together continuations of The NC NAACP's earlier Raleigh protests. The Asheville crowd equaled in size the largest of the 13 rallies that had protested the regressive and immoral bills passed by the 2013 NC General Assembly before it adjourned. There hundreds had agreed to arrest for their acts of non-violent "civil disobedience" which amounted to refusing to leave the Assembly halls and to cease singing. As seen in the photo, the MTA paraphernalia our coalition members wore was prominently displayed.
