Ohio Secretary of State Rules in Favor of Letting the People Decide

September 11, 2012

Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted ruled today in favor of the citizens of Brecksville and the Mayor and Council of the Village of Newburgh Heights to place measures on this November's ballot containing Move to Amend language.

His decision followed compelling testimony from citizens and public officials before the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections and many, many calls and emails to Husted's office asking that voters should decide the issue, not members of the Board of Elections.

People Power helped!

The Newburgh Heights measure will now be on the ballot. The Mayor and Council of Brecksville could still appeal the decision to the Ohio Supreme Court. If you live in Brecskville, please contact ASAP
