The Oregon House of Representatives on Friday, June 21st, approved by a 48 - 11 vote HJM6 as amended to eliminate corporate personhood and money as speech. Specifically the resolution instructs Oregon's congressional delegation to send it a proposed constitutional measure which would do that. This 80% approval vote was bipartisan with both Democrats and Republicans voting in favor.
The resolution now goes to the Senate Rules committee for a hearing which is not scheduled yet. If the Senate Rules committee holds a hearing and approves it, then will then be available for the Senate to vote.
Please contact your Oregon State Senator and tell them that you want them to vote on HJM6 and that they should vote Yes.
The Senate Rules committee members are Diane Rosenbaum, Chair, Ted Ferrioli, Vice-Chair, Lee Beyer, Ginny Burdick, Bruce Starr. They need to hear that you expect them to schedule a hearing ASAP and send it on to the whole Senate for their vote.
