61 co-sponsors on the We the People Amendment didn’t magically appear!
Each election year Move to Amend supporters have used our Pledge to Amend campaign to uncover who are champions, who can be persuaded, and who should be challenged.
Click here to learn if candidates running for office in your community have taken the Pledge to Amend.
Now is the time for you to use your passion, knowledge, and skills to make corporate constitutional rights and money in politics the central issue of this election season!
Our goal is for 300 candidates to pledge to amend this year. It is within reach, but if we are to get over the finish line, everyone must lean in. When candidates debate, host campaign events, or come knocking for your vote, get their position on record!!
Perhaps at no moment in the history of our democracy has it been more crucial to empower yourself as a voter!
So how do you get started?
Every campaign needs to outline the path to eventual success. The nitty-gritty of campaign planning empowers you to explore potential opportunities, prioritize resources, and set a timeline.
You are not without support! Check out the Pledge to Amend page on the Move to Amend website to find the resources you need to set out your plan. We have a video outlining the project, materials you can use, and tips and resources.
And then we’re eager to hear which candidates you’ll be engaging! Please complete this short survey to let us know what races you will be targeting.
Remember, while it is crucial that we target those running for legislative positions, it is just as important to focus on candidates running for mayor, district attorney, county commissioner, school board, and other races like that. On this issue so consequential to our democracy, we can’t afford to have any candidates not make their position known!
Also, you don’t have to go at it all on your own. Telling us your plans for Pledge to Amend will allow us to connect you with other folks in your area.
Together, let’s deliver this democracy to the people!
P.S. We'd love to see everyone help us target candidates to get them to pledge to amend, but if there's no way you can donate your time, how about pitching in $5, $10, $28, or $500 (or whatever you can afford) to help make this important project a success!
