Official Press Conference Details for 1/21:
All are invited to attend the "Money Out-Voters In" Coalition press conference at 10 am on Tuesday, Jan. 21st in the Assembly Parlor of the State Capitol building in Madison, Wisconsin.
Move To Amend, and the other Coalition members, are pushing for the Assembly to vote for a statewide referendum asking the people if they agree that:
"Only human beings—not corporations, unions, nonprofit organizations, or similar associations—are endowed with constitutional rights, and Money is not speech, and therefore limiting political contributions and spending is not equivalent to restricting political speech"
Jan, 21st is the fourth anniversary of the Citizen's United decision by the Supreme Court. It is time this disastrous decision is undone. The influence of consolidated money in fewer hands continues to grow, while the representation each of us receives is diminished, the meaning of the word bribery blurred.
Please come and let the Assembly know that the people should have a voice, and that it is We the People [all of us] who need to be represented.
(The Assembly Parlor can be accessed from the 2d floor, West Wing. Directions available at the Information Desk on the Ground Floor.)
