MTA demands new limits on Salt Lake City campaign contributions

Wednesday, October 7, 2015

The Utah chapter of Move to Amend, together with the local chapter of the National League of Women Voters, will meet with Mayor Ralph Becker on Friday and push him to back MTA's draft ordinance severely reducing the caps on campaign contributions in Salt Lake City.  Both groups are seeking to lower caps for mayoral races from the present $7500 to $1000 and city council races from the present $1500 to $500.  They are also calling for a ban on corporate money altogether.
