PROMOTING
------------------

PROMOTE THE RIGHT OF BRECKSVILLE AND NEWBURGH HEIGHTS CITIZENS TO VOTE ON ENDING CORPORATE PERSONHOOD AND MONEY AS SPEECH!
Attend the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections Meeting
Tuesday, August 28, 4:30 pm
2925 Euclid Ave., Cleveland
(Free parking behind building)

The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections will vote on Tuesday whether citizens in Brecksville and Newburgh Heights will have the right to vote this November on ending corporate personhood and money as speech. Citizen activists in Brecksville and political leaders in Newburgh Hts. both agree voters should decide whether their communities should call on Congress to ask for a Constitutional Amendment declaring that only human beings, not corporations, possess constitutional rights and that money is not equivalent to speech and, therefore, can be regulated in elections. The City of Brecksville has challenged the citizens initiative. No one has challenged the Newburgh Hts. ordinance, but the Board of Elections doesn't understand why the Village Council decided to place the measure on the ballot instead of simply passing it themselves.

* More than 1100 Brecksville citizens signed the initiative petition (92% of which were valid -- an astonishingly high percentage) saying they wanted to vote on these issues.
* Newburgh Heights Village Council voted unanimously to place these issues on the ballot for voters to decide.

Attend the public hearing. Speak before the Board. Defend direct democracy and the right of citizens to petition their own government. Let voters of both communities decide these issues at the ballot box. Not political appointees of the Board of Elections!
