Move to Amend is a nationwide movement to save democracy by clearly establishing money is not speech and corporations are not people.
Locally in Cleveland we have been working to put Move to Amend on the Cleveland ballot in November 2016! We are making progress with nearly 3000 signatures and will continue to get more with your help!
Help Move to Amend on March 15th!
We got 1000+ signatures on the last election day!
Join us for a few hours on 3/15 so we can get another 1000 signatures!
Move to Amend Cleveland will be collecting signatures during Ohio's primary election on March 15th! Polls are open 6:30am-7:30pm.
May 2016 marks the 130th birthday of corporate persons.
That’s right—more than a century before Citizens United v. FEC, the Supreme Court first recognized corporations as people with Constitutional rights in Santa Clara County v. Southern Pacific Railroad in May of 1886. Self-governance has been railroaded ever since with subsequent Supreme Court decisions expanding inalienable human rights to corporations – at the expense of OUR rights.
What better way in Ohio to commemorate this “birthday” by working to end corporate rights! And what better way to end corporate rights than supporting Cleveland Move to Amend on Saturday, May 21?
Mark your calendar as Move to Amend Cleveland will be hosting volunteers from all over Ohio for a productive, fun and solidarity-building day in Cleveland. More info to come.
Next Move to Amend meeting will be Monday, March 7th
Our next meeting will be Monday, March 7th at 5:30pm at MLK Jr Library, 1962 Stokes Boulevard (between Euclid and Chester Ave near University Circle) to distribute petitions and literature for the primary election and planning for May 21st. We will also be reviewing information on becoming an official affiliate with the Move to Amend organization.
