Stampede to Amend: Fund "The Amend-O-Matic"!

June 5, 2012

The Move to Amend coalition and Ben Cohen (of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream fame) are teaming up to launch this exciting project to reach everyday Americans and build the mass movement to amend the Constitution to abolish corporate personhood -- with your help!

The Amend-O-Matic!

Help us fund the "The Amend-O-Matic" -- a giant machine/vehicle that will both serve as a public art spectacle, information center and money stamping machine where people can insert their dollar bills and receive them back imprinted with messages of "Corporations Aren't People. Money Isn't Speech." and "Not to Be Used for Bribing Politicians." and "The System Isn't Broken, It's Fixed."

The stamped bills will go into the money supply and circulate, educating everyone who uses them about corporate rule and the movement to abolish corporate personhood.

From September 24-December 16, the Amend-O-Matic will hit the road on a a nation-wide tour, visiting cities and towns across the United States, spreading the word about the movement to amend and how people can get involved. And in our wake, we will leave behind thousands and thousands of stamped bills, to keep the message circulating long after we've moved on to the next town.

Your IndieGoGo contribution will pay for the tour. If we can raise half of the costs ($20,000), Ben Cohen has generously agreed to match it and fund the other half of the tour expenses. Click here to make a donation!

Please help us meet our goal!

The Amend-O-Matic will visit the following cities (subject to change, check back for the most up to date information about the schedule):

If all goes well we will plan to continue the tour into 2013 and travel through the rest of the country.

We've already received national media attention for just the idea of this project in Yahoo News, Huffington Post and RT -- we just need your support to make it real!

You may be asking, "is this legal?" and the answer is Yes! As long as the bills are not defaced with the intent to defraud or be rendered unusable, it is not illegal to stamp currency in this manner.

Please help us reach beyond the choir in a creative, spectacular way and get the word out to the American public that there is a movement to amend the Constitution and we need their participation.

And let's have fun doing it!

Your donation of at least $20 will get you your own stamp to get started and join the fun -- please be as generous as you can!!

If you live in one of the towns on the route and would be willing to help organize a workshop, host our organizers, or publicize our visit, please let us know!

And please let all of your friends know about this project -- spread the word -- share on Facebook, Twitter, Email Your Friends!
