Minnesota Petition Signers
Help Us Reach 14,000 by the end of December

ACTION:  Please print this form and get 4 people to sign the petition.

This link will provide you with what to say and what to do with completed forms.

Nearly 13,000 people in MInnesota have signed the petition supporting the US Constitutional amendment proposed by Move to Amend:

Why is this number important?
Each year we report the number to elected representatives and senators to demonstrate that support is growing for the We the People bill.
Sometimes we call petition signers to ask them to contact their representative or senator and ask them to co-sponsor or vote on our bill.
Think of a snowball rolling down a hill.  As more people are behind this movement the more momentum it will gain.

Ask Ramsey and Hennepin County Board of Commissioners
To Speak Up in Favor of Democracy

ACTION:  Ask your County Commissioner to support this resolution..

Help get Hennepin and Ramsey Counties behind the movement for democracy.  Ask them to support a resolution that includes the points in the one suggested below:

RESOLVED, the People of [County] stand with the Move to Amend campaign and communities across the country to defend democracy from the corrupting effects of undue corporate power by amending US Constitution to unequivocally state that:
1.     inalienable rights belong to human beings only, and
2.     money is not a form of protected free speech under the First Amendment and can be regulated in political campaigns.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the People of [County] hereby instruct our state and federal representatives to enact resolutions and legislation to advance this effort.

An expanded resolution can be found at - https://movetoamend.org/model-resolution-councils-organizations

If you'd prefer to send a postcard (rather than call or email), try using this text:

Dear Commissioner ________________________________________,
When the US Constitution was adopted “We the People” meant human beings.  Through judicial activism corporations were given Constitutional Rights. Among those rights is the freedom of speech.  Our democracy has been corrupted by this deviation. The Ramsey County Board of Commissioners can send a strong signal to legislators that your constituents care about this issue by passing a resolution.

Why is promoting a resolution by counties so important?
The enormous flow of Dark Money into our elections—both from inside and outside the state—has a corrupting influence that is undeniable, and comes from just a tiny fraction of our populace (in our 2016 elections, it was just 0.5% of us). Minnpost shows how that money was distributed in our 2018 statewide races here.

If we want the Minnesota Legislature to pass a resolution directing Congress to draft an amendment like HJR48, then we need to show our resolve at every level of government.
