We the People bill Introduced:

HF2701 in MN House; SF2038 in MN Senate

Your help getting your MN State Representative and Senator to become a cosponsor at the very beginning of the 2020 session is critical.  The more constituents they hear from, the more your representatives and senators listen. And are likely to act to become the next cosponsor of our bills.

ACTION:  Thank Senators Marty, Clausen, Carlson and Hawj.  Thank Representatives Dehn, Hansen, Noor and Olson!

ACTION:  Make a call or send an email if your state representative or and your state senator is not one of the cosponsors mentioned above.  Ask them to cosponsor HF 2701 (House); SF2038 (Senate).

Find your elected officials and their contact info here.

Deliver this message:

Hello, I’m ____, one of your constituents.  I am concerned about democracy and the influence that outside and undisclosed money has on our elections.  I am concerned that big corporations and unions have more influence through their money than human beings do.  Please cosponsor the SF2038 (HF2701), We the People bill, to amend our Constitution to firmly establish that money is not speech, and that human beings, not corporations, are persons entitled to constitutional rights.

Thanks for your help in making sure that the MN legislature hears from us big-time in 2020!

Help Expand the Base

Make It Known - Democracy is a Moral Imperative

“We can have democracy in this country, or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but we can't have both.” Louis D. Brandeis, former Supreme Court Justice.

Any movement starts with people voicing their concern, making a commitment and joining other similarly concerned neighbors.

We have Move to Amenders in every House and Senate District in Minnesota which demonstrates the widespread concern people have about our democracy.   You can help us double the number by asking people in your community to sign the petition.

There are 3 ways people can sign the petition that says –

We, the People of the United States of America, reject the U.S. Supreme Court’s Citizens United ruling and other related cases, and move to amend our Constitution to firmly establish that money is not speech, and that human beings, not corporatons, are persons entitled to constitutional rights.

1)   Text AMEND to 38470 or
2)   Sign the petition online at movetoamend.org or
3)   Print this formand get 4 people to sign the petition.

You can help gather signatures in support of the petition statement.  It is the best way to educate the public.  Community festivals, political rallies, farmers' markets, grocery stores, film screenings, picnics of local organizations, and other local events can provide good opportunities for outreach.
