January 21, 2010 - Citizens United v F.E.C. - the day the Supreme Court threw the gates open and even more money come flooding into our political system to influence our legislators and steal our elections.
And you weren’t shocked.
The undemocratic influence of corporations in our government and big money in our elections didn’t start in 2010, it’s been building steadily for over a century. They know what they’re doing.
And so do we.
Let’s let them know we’re still angry.
We’re still fighting, and we’re organizing.
We’re growing in number, dedication, and strength. This year, we’re calling for a National Day of Action to End Corporate Rule to mourn the Citizens United decision, and to let everyone know we’re still working to fight the influence of big money and corporate power.
On Sunday, January 21st, 2018, we’re encouraging you to get creative, and get loud. Make art, stamp money, sing songs, signal distress for the state of our so-called democracy.
Take photos, take videos, take petitions, post to social media, and make a scene! We want to see communities around the country calling out, and engaging folks in creative ways to educate about the problem so we can organize for the solution - the We The People Amendment!
Whether you’re a large group or just one person, we want to help you pull this off! email jessica [at] movetoamend.org ((link sends e-mail)) if you’re not involved with a Move to Amend affiliate, and we can connect you connect with others in your area who might want to help out.
