United for a Fair Economy is a national, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization with a mission to raise awareness that concentrated wealth and power undermine the economy, corrupt democracy, deepen the racial divide, and tear communities apart. We support and help build social movements for greater equality. As a result, our work intersects with a number of critical issues, including financial reform and corporate accountability, CEO pay, the foreclosure and employment crises, and immigration reform, among others. The following projects are at the core of UFE's work: (1) Closing the Racial Wealth Divide by providing resources that deepen understanding about historical and current impediments to economic equity among communities of color. (2) Popular Economics Education workshops and materials that transform economic statistics into engaging learning experiences that move people to action. (3) Organizing the Tax Fairness Organizing Collaborative, a support network of 28 state-level advocacy groups that promote fair and adequate taxation at the state and federal levels through grassroots organizing. (4) Supporting national efforts to strengthen the Estate Tax and make federal taxes equitable for all and adequate to support the public good. (5) Responsible Wealth: A network of business leaders, investors, and inheritors in the richest five percent who advocate for fair taxes and corporate accountability.
